COLUMBIA POINT — The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate hosted 200 guests for the opening reception of the 28th annual Experience America gathering, which was held in Boston. The Boston event was hosted by Rufus Gifford, chief of protocol for the United States, and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and included members of the foreign diplomatic corps. SOUTH BOSTON — More than 200 guests attended the Matt Brown Foundation fundraiser, which was held at the Castle Island Brewery in South Boston. Matt started the foundation after he suffered a spinal cord injury when he was 15 years old while playing in a hockey game for Norwood against Weymouth. Matt later attended Stonehill College. FENWAY — 160 guests attended the Boston Arts Academy Foundation reception at the House of Blues. The event was hosted by Foundation President Denella Clark and the honored guests were 2023 Champions: Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and former mayor Kim Janey.
