SEAPORT — 300 guests turned out for the Eire Society of Boston’s annual dinner, which honored James T. Brett, the president and CEO of the New England Council. DORCHESTER — More than 200 guests gathered for the 12th annual St. Patrick’s Day breakfast and raised more than $100,000 to support the Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry. DORCHESTER — Steve MacDonald may have thought he was showing up at Florian Hall for a TV interview, but the Boston Fire Department spokesman was actually surprised by Commissioner Joe Finn and about a 100 friends gathered to wish MacDonald well on his retirement from the department. My friend William F. Smith, III, who died suddenly on July 9, 2017 while he was in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Billy, as he was called, was a member of the Boston Police Department’s Firearms Unit.
