Storybook Ball raises more than $2M to support MassGeneral Hospital for Children

BACK BAY — 500 guests, dressed in creative black tie attire, attended the Storybook Ball, the annual event that raises money to support MassGeneral Hospital for Children. This 19th gala, which was held on Oct. 13, 2018 at the Castle at Park Plaza, raised more than $2 million.

The gala co-chairs were Jen and Mark Dolins and Sonja Kelly and Steve Tordone. Inspired by “101 Dalmatians,” Rafanelli Events transported guests across the pond and celebrated the beloved puppies with the iconic black and white spots. The evening included dinner, a live auction, dancing and carnival booth games.

Since 2000, the Storybook Ball has raised more than $28 million for research initiatives and patient care programs at MassGeneral Hospital for Children, according to a press release. Proceeds from Storybook Ball over the past decade have allowed MassGeneral Hospital for Children to provide extraordinary care to the youngest patients and their families; to recruit and support the best physicians, surgeons and researchers; and to speed the development of new technologies and cutting-edge research that can transform clinical approaches locally and globally.
