Quincy holds peaceful protest of issues facing Black Americans

QUINCY — Our friend Cody Huntington hit the streets in Quincy to photograph the peaceful protest following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, MN, and the subsequent demonstrations against police brutality and injustice against people of color.

Here is Cody’s report: “The past week has been incredibly difficult for many, but today I found a small glimpse of hope for our future. Today, a candlelight vigil was held in my city of Quincy, MA, and it was the most peaceful protest I have seen so far. There were no disagreements, there was only love, unity and respect. While protesters made their voices heard, the Quincy Police Department escorted us safely through the city. The community was courteous and I could not be more proud of how my city came together in their effort to make it clear to the rest of the world that Black lives matter.”
