More than $1.6 million raised at Corey Fest ’21

FENWAY — More than 1,700 guests attended the 2021 Corey C. Griffin Foundation’s Corey Fest, which raised more than $1.6 million that will go to Boston Children’s Hospital’s Corey C. Griffin House and other Children’s programs. The event was held at the House of Blues on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 and featured a performance by Chase Rice.

Following Corey’s tragic passing on August 16th, 2014, the Griffin family and close friends founded the Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity. Like his parents and siblings, Corey was dedicated to philanthropy and that was what served as the guiding principles of the foundation: improving the lives of primarily Boston-area children through strategic partnerships with the city’s leading educational and healthcare institutions, with an emphasis on faith-based initiatives.

The night also raised $160,000 in the name of the late Jimmy Hayes, a Dorchester native and former pro hockey player who died suddenly earlier this year. That money will go to Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy, Neponset Campus, Dorchester.
