Sad News: Both Boston Fire Fighters Local 718 and Boston Fire Department Commissioner Joe Finn announced that Lieutenant Paul V. Hoban of Engine Company 16. has died. He died at his Dorchester home on Saturday. He was appointed to the Boston Fire Department in 1989. Although assigned to the Engine Co. 16, which was the first company to respond to the 9-alarm fire in Mattapan that injured nine, including seven firefighters, Lt. Hoban was not working on Saturday. As soon as we have service arrangements, we will post them.
