HINGHAM — The Hingham High School girls’ varsity team, the 2024 state champs, kicked off their pre-season with a fundraiser at the Hingham Community Center, which exceeded expectations, raising several thousand dollars.
More than 125 guests attended the sold-out outdoor garden event to support the Hingham Harborwomen as they prepare for the 2025 season.
Music was provided by Joe Mc Dongugh, and South Shore funny man Jim Fagan provided the laughs and helped raise several thousand dollars as the auctioneer.
Emcee Jack Doherty introduced the coaching staff, which included new assistant coach Cris Carney, who previously coached at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham for the last nine seasons. Jack told the crowd that all of the money raised will support the Hingham girls hockey program for 2025. He closed the event, thanking the girls, their parents, and this year’s committee.
