Former Bruins coach Cassidy brings the Stanley Cup to Milton to support Foundation

MILTON — Hundreds gathered outside the Glover Elementary School in Milton as former Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy launched the Cassidy Murray Foundation, named in honor of one of his daughter’s friends who died in Aruba while vacationing with her parents in 2022. (The foundation hopes to help families dealing with grief following a tragic loss by increasing access to trauma and grief therapy, according to Fox 25 News.)

Cassidy did not come home empty-handed, he brought along the Stanley Cup, which he won with the Las Vegas Knights this season. Cassidy was fired by the Bruins in June 2022 after six seasons, nearly 250 wins, and a Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2019.

The Foundation got a boost from attorney Sean Flaherty of Kehes Law Group in Milton who donated $10,000 to the non-profit.
