Fagan and Dovner chosen Man and Woman of the Year for efforts in raising money to beat cancer

Jamie Fagan, supported by his family, ran a several-week campaign to raise money in his mother’s name for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Man and Woman of the Year project.

COPLEY SQUARE – More than 400 guests attended The Leukemia and Lymphoma Man and Women of the Year Gala, which was held on June 21, 2018 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel. At the gala, which was emceed by NBC10’s Colton Bradford, it was announced that this year’s highest fundraisers (and thus the Man and Woman of the Year) were Jamie Fagan of Charlestown and Jackie Dovner of Duxbury.

All 12 of the candidates worked tirelessly for 10 weeks to raise money and awareness about leukemia and lymphoma raising a total of more than $400,000. All of the money raised will advance Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission to improve the quality of life for those with leukemia and lymphoma and to find research for blood cancers.
