DORCHESTER — College Hype, the custom screen printing and embroidery company out of Dorchester and Weymouth, announced its “customer of the month”: Timberline Construction, founded by Steve Kelly, and located in Canton, Massachusetts. Steve’s company includes more than 140 employees between Timberline Construction Corp and Timberline Communications Inc.
Upon receiving the recognition, Steve offered a few words about his company, which is marking its 20th anniversary this year.
Q: How do you like working with College Hype?
A: “College Hype has been a trusted partner of both Timberline as a company and myself individually! Their team led by Jack Doherty has always been a best-in-class customer service driven organization. They are subject matter experts in the apparel industry and have the ability to provide virtually anything at all that a company would need. The fact that all of their screen printing and embroidery is performed locally here in Massachusetts is not only a great American success story but also a value add given the global supply chain constraints.
Q: ”What gets you up in the morning?“
A: Success has always driven me to become the leader that I am today. I am committed to providing the best life that I can for my wife and children but I hold my employees and their families’ livelihoods in my heart as well. There are no days off when you own a company and failure is not an option.”What advice would you give to new entrepreneurs?“I would encourage every person thinking about becoming an entrepreneur to dream big, be fearless, don’t be afraid to fail, set goals and smash them. Don’t expect perfection but focus on constant evolution and growth. Old fashioned values of honesty, integrity and hard work will never go out of style.”Recently, Steve’s company finished completing Puma’s new North American HQ which is more than 150,000 square feet. His company is listed as one of the top 20 construction companies in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well.
