NANTUCKET, Mass — 350 guests attended “The Crystal Ball,” Nantucket Magazine’s 15th anniversary bash, which raised money to support the Nantucket Historical Association. The event was held at the Whaling Museum. Among those who attended were, Nantucket Magazine’s Publisher Bruce Percelay and his wife, Elisabeth, New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick and his girlfriend, Linda Holliday, and TV host Jenny Johnson. BOSTON — Some 200 guests attended the Esplanade Friends Council’s 7th annual Esplanade Summer Dock Party that was held on July 20, 2017 on the Docks at Community Boating Inc. The evening’s host was Kennedy Elsey from Mix 104.1FM’s “Karson & Kennedy” show. The funds raised at this event are critical to the Esplanade Association to fund important park improvements and community enriching programs for the enjoyment of the park’s millions of visitors. SOUTH BOSTON — More than 500 guests attended The Mary Binda Memorial Cruise held on July 6, 2017 to support summer programming for more than 300 young people at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston’s Edgerley Family South Boston Club. Binda, who died in 2009, was involved in many South Boston organizations, including serving on the board of the Boys and Girls Club. The cruise was held on board the Provincetown II. …
It had been 31 years since the last nurses’ strike and when Tufts Medical Center refused to let 1,200 members of the Massachusetts Nurses Association return to work on Monday, I stopped by to take a few photos. I’m posting some of my photos from time at the demonstrations here. — Bill
