HULL — 250 people took a polar plunge on Feb. 24, 2018 at Nantasket Beach in Hull to support the programs of Special Olympics. It was bit warmer than the sub-zero temperatures for the annual L Street Brownies faced on Jan. 1 in Boston. STURBRIDGE — The 2018 Ken Burns Lifetime Achievement Award was given to “This Old House” host Norm Abram at a sold-out dinner at the Oliver Wight Tavern at Old Sturbridge Village. BACK BAY — The Spaulding Hospital Professionals Council (which many knew by its former name the Young Professionals Group) hosted some 250 people at a recent fundraiser held at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston hotel. COPLEY SQUARE — 800 guests attended the 10th annual Boston Winter Ball, hosted by the Corey C. Griffin Foundation.
