Boston Harbor Hotel celebrates the lives of the men behind the film ‘Devotion’

BOSTON — 250 guests were treated to a reception hosted by Rick and Nancy Kelleher at the Boston Harbor Hotl after a special screening of the movie “Devotion,” which is based on the lives of two elite US Navy fighter pilots.

Based on the bestselling book of the same name, the movie tells the true story of Navy fighter pilots, who helped turn the tide in the most brutal battle in the Korean War: Jesse Brown, the first Black aviator in Navy history and his fellow fighter pilot and friend, Tom Hudner. Hudner, who died in 2017, received the Medal of Honor. He lived for many years in Concord. Their heroic sacrifices and enduring friendship would ultimately make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen.

Among those at the reception were: Hudner’s widow Georgea and their son, Tom; author Adam Makos; Jessica Knight, granddaughter of Jesse Brown; and Medal of Honor recepient Tom Kelley and his wife, Joan.
