Boston Arts Academy Foundation’s gala raises more than $1.375 million for school

BOSTON — 500 guests attended the Boston Arts Academy Foundation’s annual gala “Boston Arts Academy Honors,” which was held in the Rose Kennedy Ballroom of the InterContinental Boston hotel.

The gala, which was held on May 4, 2019, raised $1.375 million.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh served as the event’s honorary chairman, and Jeff Rosica, President and CEO, Avid Technology, was the gala chairman. The honorary guest was
Deborah B. Goldberg, state treasurer and receiver general, and chair of the state’s School Building Authority.

The evening’s honorees were: Civic Honoree, Linda Pizzuti Henry, Boston Globe managing director and co-founder of HUBweek; Dance Honoree, Mikko Nissinen, Boston Ballet’s Hart artistic director’s chair; Music Honoree, Roger H. Brown, president, Berklee College of Music; Theatre Honoree: Kevin Sussman, actor and comedian, “The Big Bang Theory”; Fashion Honoree: Angelica Timas,fashion designer and CEO, Angelica Timas brand; Visual Arts Honoree: and Lisa Tung Director, Curatorial Programs, Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
