Father Bill’s & MainSpring holds annual fundraiser

HINGHAM — 150 guests attended the Donor Reception to benefit Father Bill’s & MainSpring (FBMS), which was held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at The Launch at Hingham Shipyard. The event was an alternative to FBMS’s annual FoodFest fundraiser, which was canceled this year due to Covid-19. The Donor Reception, FBMS’s second of the year, was an opportunity to bring together the non-profit organization’s generous supporters for a smaller, more intimate gathering.

FBMS is the regional provider of services to prevent and end homelessness on the South Shore and across Southern Massachusetts and operates more than 600 permanent supportive housing units for formerly homeless individuals, families and veterans.

Food at the reception was provided by Boathouse Bistro, Fuji at WoC, Wahlburgers, Alma Nove, and Ginger Betty’s. During the event program, FBMS CEO & President John Yazwinski thanked the agency’s supporters for helping FBMS respond to Covid-19 and save lives. Yazwinski also highlighted two major projects on the horizon for FBMS: converting an underutilized hotel into 69 permanent housing units for homeless individuals in Brockton and building an innovative Housing Resource Center in Quincy.

The event’s featured speakers were Lou Trubiano, Chair of the Envision Bank Foundation, and Bob Pineau, President & CEO of Electro Switch Corporation and a member of the FBMS board of directors and its Housing Resource Center Campaign Leadership Cabinet.
