3rd annual Triple Crown Night held to support breast cancer patients

QUINCY — 500 people attended Maria’s Mission’s 3rd annual Triple Crown Night – a night of fashion, fun and philanthropy that was held to coincide with the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 4 at the Boston Quincy Marriott hotel.

The night honors Marisa D. Federico, the former director of national sales at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, who was 35 when she was diagnosed in 2013 with stage IV, triple positive breast cancer. A Braintree native, Marisa died on March 26, 2016 at the age of 37.

Even though she was diagnosed with an incurable disease, Marisa persevered forward and continued to live life full of zest and enthusiasm. Her family and friends set up Marisa’s Mission Foundation with the goal of keeping her spirit alive and support those going through treatment. Marisa’s Mission was started to continue Marisa’s legacy by motivating and assisting families affected by the numerous challenges of cancer.
